On Saturday June 18, 2011, Vasque Athlete, Duncan Callahan, competed in the San Juan Solstice 50-miler finishing in a very respectable 7th place with a time of 9:54:28. The San Juan Solstice held in the San Juan Mountains of south-central Colorado,is replete with all those adventurous components that go along with a long day in the high mountains: stream crossings, ridge running, mega-altitude, huge views, heat and/or rain, sleet, and snow.

Annie and I had a relatively quick and painless 8-hour drive over to Salt Lake City on Friday as I was readying to race the Antelope Island 50 mile the next day. We had been out to Antelope Island (a gigantic island on the Great Salt Lake) one other time about three years ago with my parents and one thing we all took away from that visit was a sense of how large the Salt Lake actually is and how cool it is that there are Buffalo out on the island. That visit three years ago was the day I decided I wanted to one-day race in the Antelope Island Buffalo Run 50 mile.

In his third race of the year Vasque trail athlete, Duncan Callahan, takes first place and sets a personal record at the Spring Desert Ultra 50 miler.
After a great winter of training and coaching the Crested Butte Nordic Team, Callahan found himself focused and ready for the race which had eluded him in years past. Callahan arrived at the challenging 50 mile race fired up and prepared to tackle a good field of competition...

Duncan Callahan gave an incredible, flawless performance during the Lifetime Fitness Leadville Trail 100 this past weekend. The high-profile 100-mile “Race Across the Sky” attracted over 800 entrants including renowned racers Anton Krupicka and Hal Koerner. Callahan’s winning time of 17:43:24 earned him a 2-time victory and a personal record for the difficult, high-altitude race that has participants climbing over 12,500 feet.

Vasque athlete, Duncan Callahan continues his epic season with a victory and new course record of 7:33 at the Grand Teton 50 mile trail race this past Labor Day weekend at Grand Targhee Ski area in Alta, WY. This win is the third win of the season and a second course record for Callahan who is just coming off a third place finish at the Leadville Trail 100 only two weeks ago. Callahan began the weekend by presenting an ultra running clinic at the renowned retailer Skinny Skis, a Vasque dealer located in Jackson, WY.
