Summertime with the Propsters

Jul 16, 2012

Sheri and Randy Propster have had a busy summer so far during their Get Out More Tour! For the past few weeks, the Propsters have been trekking through Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire, traveling to REI and Eastern Mountain Sports stores to educate people about skills and equipment they need when enjoying the great outdoors.

They're gearing up for a fun month ahead as they hit up two events happening in just a few short weeks. At these events, Sheri and Randy will be providing product demos, skills clinics, and inspiration to aspiring and active outdoor enthusiasts. Here's where you can find The Propsters in July:

Seek the Peak: The Nation's Premier Hiking Event!

On July 21st, hikers of all ages and abilities from around the world are invited to the rugged, windswept trails of Mount Washington, New Hampshire to participate in this annual fundraiser for the legendary Mount Washington Observatory.

Vasque will be there as well, giving away prizes and will have demos on hand for attendees to try on boots. Here's a list of some of the prizes being given away: A total of 15 pairs of Vasque boots, Sturdi-Wheat pancake mix, along with a discount coupon for all attendees to use at their local EMS store on a pair of new Vasque boots!

Boasting world-class alpine trekking and stunning views to the Atlantic Ocean, Canada, the Adirondack mountains, and beyond, Mount Washington is the pinnacle of the New England hiking scene. Scaling its windswept summit as a participant in Seek the Peak offers an immensely rewarding physical challenge, while benefitting a great cause.

Floyd Fest

More than a music festival, FloydFest 11 is a forum for all things progressively feel-good and has garnered a niche in the festival scene as a haven of good vibes, outdoor activities, and family friendly recreation.

Located at milepost 170.5 off the breathtakingly beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway, the event boasts a multi-genre lineup on 10 stages on July 26-29th. Additional offerings that make this event a true unique experience include: fun outdoor activities including guided hikes, a 5k race, mountain biking and more, panel discussions on sustainability and social concerns, a variety of free workshops, music on one-of-a-kind handcrafted timber-framed stages, free drinking water (with help from friends at Klean Kanteen), a Children's Universe with activities and childcare, Healing Arts offerings (cranioSacral massage, Reiki, Thai massage, reflexology, and more!), free trapeze lessons, an Artisan's Village with a variety of handcrafted offerings, and smorgasbord of organic food offerings.

Located near Floyd, Virginia, a town embedded with rich Appalachian heritage and music, Floyd is also a stop along Virginia's historic musical trail, the Crooked Road.
